Spectroscopic Identification on CO2 Separation from CH4 + CO2 Gas Mixtures Using Hydroquinone Clathrate Formation

چکیده
The formation of hydroquinone (HQ) clathrate and the guest behaviors binary (CH4 + CO2) gas mixtures were investigated by focusing on an application to separate CO2 from landfill gases. Spectroscopic measurements show that at two experimental pressures 20 40 bar, molecules are preferentially captured in HQ clathrates regardless composition. In addition, preferential occupation is observed more significantly when pressure CH4 concentration lower. Because found with composition feed gas, a clathrate-based process can be applied separation or gases mixed

Kinetics of the Formation and Dissociation of Gas Hydrates from CO2-CH4 Mixtures
Sequestration of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the form of its hydrates in natural methane (CH4) hydrate reservoirs, via CO2/CH4 exchange, is an attractive pathway that also yields valuable CH4 gas as product. In this paper, we describe a macroscale experiment to form CO2 and CH4-CO2 hydrates, under seafloor-mimic conditions, in a vessel fitted with glass windows that provides visualization of hydrat...
متن کاملEffect of Ethylene Oxide Functional Groups in PEBA-CNT Membranes on CO2/CH4 Mixed Gas Separation
Poly (ether-block-amide) /poly (ethylene glycol)/ carbon nanotubes mixed matrix membranes have been successfully fabricated using solvent evaporation method to determine the effect of ethylene oxide groups on the performance of produced membranes. The effects of CNTs (2-8 wt%) and PEG (up to 50 wt%)were investigated in both single and mixed gas test setup in different temperature and pressure. ...
متن کاملSynergetic effect of carbon nanopore size and surface oxidation on CO2 capture from CO2/CH4 mixtures.
We have studied the synergetic effect of confinement (carbon nanopore size) and surface chemistry (the number of carbonyl groups) on CO2 capture from its mixtures with CH4 at typical operating conditions for industrial adsorptive separation (298 K and compressed CO2-CH4 mixtures). Although both confinement and surface oxidation have an impact on the efficiency of CO2/CH4 adsorptive separation a...
متن کاملAlPO-18 membranes for CO2/CH4 separation.
The synthesis of reproducible and continuous AlPO-18 membranes is demonstrated. The separation performance of these membranes for equimolar CO(2)/CH(4) gas mixtures is presented. The AlPO-18 membranes displayed CO(2) permeances as high as ~6.6 × 10(-8) mol m(-2) s Pa with CO(2)/CH(4) separation selectivities in the ~52-60 range at 295 K and 138 kPa.
متن کاملDynamics and Separation-based Adsorption of Binary Mixtures of CH4, CO2 and H2S on MIL-47: GCMC and MD Studies
This study aimed to investigate the adsorption of CH4, CO2, H2S at a temperature of 298.15 K and pressurerange of 0.1 to 30 atm, and compare the results with experimental data for MIL-47 using GCMC. Themaximum CH4, CO2 and H2S adsorptions were 3.6, 10.45, and 12.57 mol.kg-1, respectively. In addition, theselectivity for binary mixtures of CH4/CO2 and CH4/H2S was calculated. Th...
